My son attended the Common Digs Forest School in Calgary for a six-week session this summer, and overall, we had a good experience. The staff, particularly our instructor named Mia, was very engaged and made the program feel warm and welcoming. Each week, my son explored different aspects of nature—he especially loved the day they built a small shelter using branches and leaves. He came home excited about the various plants they identified and the animals they spotted. However, I noticed that the pickup process could get a bit chaotic, with long lines forming as parents waited to collect their kids. It might be worth improving this area to make the experience smoother. That said, I feel the program fostered his creativity and active nature, and he even made a couple of friends. I would recommend it to other parents, just keep in mind the potential wait at the end.
