Chinook School of Music North — Music

We recently enrolled our 6-year-old at the Chinook School of Music North's full-day music camp in Calgary. The staff was enthusiastic and clearly fostered a creative atmosphere. My child particularly enjoyed building a simple percussion instrument and participating in group singing sessions. The energy in the room was infectious, and it was great to see my child so engaged. However, the pickup process was a bit chaotic, with long lines that made it difficult to find our child among the excited crowd. Despite this, I feel the experience positively influenced their appreciation for music and allowed them to make new friends. Overall, I’d recommend this camp for outgoing kids who thrive in creative settings, just be prepared for some wait time during pickup!

I enrolled my 6-year-old son in the full-day music camp at Chinook School of Music North in Calgary. Overall, it was a good experience. The instructor, Mia, was incredibly engaging and really knew how to draw the kids in. My son loved exploring different instruments, especially the drums, and he was thrilled to bring home a small maraca he made during one of the creative projects. However, I did notice the drop-off process was a bit chaotic, with long lines forming as parents picked up their kids. It was a bit stressful at the end of the day. Despite that, my son made some new friends and enjoyed the inclusive environment. I would recommend this camp for outgoing and creative kids who love music!
