MHK Taekwondo Academy — Martial Arts

My son has been attending MHK Taekwondo Academy in Calgary for a few months now, and overall, we've had a positive experience. The instructors, like Mr. Lee, are very engaged and make the classes enjoyable while focusing on discipline and technique. My son started out as a bit timid, but he has gained confidence as he learns new skills and interacts with the other kids. However, the pickup process can be a bit chaotic—there were long lines after class, which made it hard for parents to get in and out quickly. Despite that, the supportive community atmosphere helps ease the wait. The class schedule is conveniently weekly, and at around $15 per session, it feels reasonable for the value provided. I would recommend this program for active kids, but parents should be prepared for a bit of a wait during pickup.

My son, who is quite active, had a blast learning some basic kicks and self-defense techniques. The small class size allowed for plenty of individual attention, which I really appreciated. However, the drop-off process was a bit chaotic, with several parents trying to get their kids settled at the same time. It would be great if they could streamline that part. Still, I think the environment was supportive and my son is excited to return next week. I would recommend this program for parents looking for a good balance of discipline and fun.
