My son, Ethan, has been attending Lightning Fist Martial Arts Academy in Calgary for the past couple of months, and overall, we've had a positive experience. The instructor, Coach Jamie, really connects with the kids and makes each class fun while teaching valuable skills. Ethan loves learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has already made a few friends in his small group. I appreciate the focus on discipline and fitness, which he seems to be enjoying. However, the drop-off process can be quite chaotic, especially on busy days, which is a bit stressful when trying to get to work afterward. The classes are reasonably priced considering the quality of instruction, and I feel that it’s a good investment in his physical development. I would recommend this academy to other parents looking for a supportive environment where their kids can thrive!

We enrolled my 9-year-old at Lightning Fist Martial Arts Academy in Calgary, and overall, we had a solid experience. The classes are well-structured, and my child has been learning Pik Lik Kung, which he loves. The instructor, Sam, really engages with the kids, making the learning environment inclusive and encouraging. I appreciated how small the group sizes were, which allows for more individualized attention. One thing that could improve is the drop-off process; it felt a bit chaotic on our first visit with kids running in every direction. My son is quite active, and he definitely enjoys the physical challenge, but some of the kids seemed a bit overwhelmed at first. We'll continue to attend and see how he progresses, but I think it's a great place for kids to learn martial arts while developing discipline and respect.
