shy

My 6-year-old recently attended the half-day session at Britannia Karate in Calgary, and overall, it was a solid experience. The instructor, Mike, was very engaging and made everyone feel included, which was perfect for my shy child. They learned some basic Tang Soo Do techniques and even participated in a mini sparring session, which they described as 'exciting.' The small group size allowed for more individual attention, and my child made a friend, which was a nice bonus. However, I did notice some long lines during pickup, which could be improved. It felt a bit chaotic at times, but thankfully, the staff managed it well. For the price, I think it's a worthwhile program, especially if you're looking for something that blends discipline with fun. I would recommend it with the caveat to prepare for a little wait during pickup.

My son, Lucas, just finished a half-day session at Britannia Karate in Calgary, and he had a lot of fun. The instructor, Sarah, was not only enthusiastic but also took the time to ensure each student felt included, which I really appreciated. Lucas learned some basic Tang Soo Do moves and even managed to make a new friend during the exercises. The small group size was a huge plus; he got plenty of individual attention. However, drop-off was a bit chaotic, and there could have been clearer instructions for parents. Overall, I think this program is great for kids who are active and want to learn martial arts in a supportive environment. I would recommend it, but be prepared for the hectic start of the day.
