Black Belt Bae's Taekwondo - West Springs — Martial Arts

We enrolled my 6-year-old in Black Belt Bae's Taekwondo in West Springs and overall, it was a positive experience. The instructors, like Sarah, were really engaged and took the time to work with each child. My son was thrilled to learn how to break boards during his first class; he felt so accomplished. The small group size let the kids get plenty of attention, which is great for their development. However, the drop-off process was a bit chaotic the first week, with multiple parents arriving at once and no clear line. I had some concerns about starting him in martial arts because he's quite active and I wanted it to be a good fit, but he has really thrived in this environment. I appreciate that the class emphasizes respect and discipline while still being fun. I recommend this program, just be prepared for some busy days during pickup.

My son has been attending Black Belt Bae's Taekwondo in Calgary for the past few months, and overall, it’s been a solid experience. The classes focus on discipline and respect, which I appreciate. His instructor, Coach Sarah, is engaging and really knows how to keep the kids motivated. My son has learned to break boards and has even earned a few belts already! Pickup can be a bit chaotic, especially on Saturdays, as there's often a long line of parents waiting, which can get frustrating. However, we’ve found that arriving a bit early helps. The small class sizes allow for individual attention, which is great for kids who are active like mine. We will definitely continue with the program, but just keep in mind the busy pickup times if you decide to join.
