We enrolled our 6-year-old in the Arashi Do Martial Arts program in Rutland Park, Calgary. Overall, it was a solid experience. My child loved learning basic Karate moves and even got to break a board during the class, which was a big highlight for him. The instructor, Sam, was engaging and made sure each kid received individual attention, which kept the small group focused and involved. One minor annoyance was the long lines during pickup; it was a bit chaotic, which made it less than ideal after a long day. However, I appreciate the core values they teach, like respect and discipline. My son left the class excited each week, and he made a few friends along the way. I would recommend the program for active kids looking for a new challenge, but just be prepared for the pickup situation.

We recently enrolled my 6-year-old son in the Martial Arts program at Arashi Do in Rutland Park, Calgary. The classes are held weekly, and the instructor, Mike, has been fantastic with the kids. He really knows how to keep them engaged while teaching respect and discipline. My son has learned some basic Karate moves and even made a new friend during his first class, which was a big plus. The class size is small, so he gets plenty of individual attention. One downside was the long lines during pickup, which made it a bit chaotic at times. However, I appreciate that the instructors take time to communicate with each parent about their child's progress. Overall, I would recommend this program for active kids looking to try martial arts in a supportive environment.
