My son started attending the Arashi Do Martial Arts program at the Deerfoot North McCall Lake location in Calgary last month, and we are quite pleased with the experience. The classes are held weekly, and he looks forward to them every time. The instructor, Marco, is particularly great with the kids and emphasizes respect and discipline while keeping the atmosphere fun and engaging. My son has already learned some basic karate moves and loves showing them off at home. One minor annoyance was the check-in process, which can get a little chaotic with the number of kids arriving at the same time. However, the small group size helps ensure that each child gets plenty of attention. Overall, I would recommend this program for active kids looking to learn martial arts in a supportive setting.

I took my 6-year-old son to the Arashi Do Martial Arts program at Deerfoot North McCall Lake in Calgary, and overall we had a good experience. The class was structured and filled with energy. My son particularly enjoyed learning some basic Karate moves and even got to practice with a partner. The instructor, Jason, was very engaging and made sure everyone felt included. However, we did experience some long lines during pickup, which made it a bit chaotic at times. That said, the small group size helped with personalized attention, and my son was able to build confidence in his movements. I can see this becoming a regular part of our week, especially since it’s designed to teach respect and discipline. If you're looking for a fun and active environment for kids, I think this program is a great fit, just be prepared for a bit of a wait at the end of class.
