My daughter, who is 9, recently began attending the weekly horseback riding program at Moose Hill Ranch in Calgary. She was thrilled to learn how to groom and saddle her horse, and her instructor, Sarah, made the experience enjoyable and educational. The small group size allowed for personalized attention, which my daughter appreciated. The heated indoor arena was great given the chilly weather, and the outdoor sand arena provided a nice change of scenery. However, I did find the drop-off process a bit chaotic, particularly with parents and kids milling about at the entrance. Despite this, the positive interaction with the engaged staff made up for it. If you're looking for a solid horseback riding program with plenty of outdoor time, this is a good choice. Just be prepared for a bit of confusion during drop-off.

However, we did encounter some long lines during the check-in process, which was a bit frustrating, especially since it was her first time. Despite that, she made a new friend and can't wait to show off her riding skills at the next lesson. I would recommend this program with the caveat that you arrive early to avoid the wait.
