I enrolled my 7-year-old son in the HDC Calgary hockey program, which runs weekly at their facility on 25th Street. The program is well-structured, and it’s clear that the instructors, like Coach Mark, are genuinely invested in the kids’ development. My son was excited to participate in the skills academy, where he improved his skating and passing skills. He made a good friend on the second day, which made the experience even better for him. However, I did notice that the sessions can get a bit crowded, especially during drop-off times, which made it slightly chaotic. Despite that, I appreciated the inclusive environment they maintain, and the pickup process was smooth. Overall, I would recommend this program for active kids looking to enhance their hockey skills, just be prepared for a bit of hustle during busy hours.

We enrolled our 9-year-old in the HDC Calgary hockey program this past month, and overall, it has been a solid experience. The facility is conveniently located at 10710 25th Street NE, which makes pickup after practice quite smooth. Coach Mike has been great with the kids, really focusing on skill development while keeping the atmosphere fun. My child particularly loved the 3-on-3 games, which seemed to bring out his competitive spirit. One downside, however, is that the sessions can get crowded, making it hard for the kids to get personalized attention at times. Despite this, our son has made friends and is excited to keep playing. If your child is active and enjoys hockey, I would recommend this program with the caveat to arrive early for a better experience.
