We enrolled our 6-year-old in the hockey program at Flames Community Arenas in Calgary. Overall, it was a solid experience. The instructors, particularly Mark, were really engaging, making sure the kids had fun while learning the basics of hockey. My son loved building his skating skills and even made a new friend on the first day. Pickup was well organized, which is a plus for busy parents. However, we did experience some long lines when dropping off for practice, which can be frustrating during our rushed mornings. The group size felt manageable, allowing for more individual attention, which I appreciated. Overall, while there are a few minor hiccups, I would recommend this program for any active child looking to get into hockey.

We recently enrolled my 6-year-old in the hockey program at Flames Community Arenas in Calgary. The instructors, like Coach Mike, were quite engaged and really worked on basic skills while keeping the kids motivated. My child loved making a friend during the drills, which made the experience even more enjoyable for us both. The communication from the staff was great; they sent out a detailed email before our first session, which was helpful. However, I did find the pickup a little chaotic, with many parents and kids around, making it hard to find my child after practice. The rink was also somewhat crowded, particularly during the Saturday sessions. Overall, we’re happy with the program. If your child is active and enjoys team sports, I would recommend it, just be prepared for the busy environment.
