My daughter recently started attending the illFX Education Dance program in Calgary, and overall, it has been a solid experience for her. The instructors, particularly a teacher named Sofia, were very engaged and genuinely seemed to care about each student’s progress. My daughter is quite active and creative, and she particularly enjoyed learning a new hip-hop routine that emphasized teamwork and individuality. While the small class sizes allowed for personalized instruction, we did experience long lines during pickup, which was a bit chaotic on the first day. I would suggest arriving a little early to avoid the rush. Despite this minor annoyance, the inclusive atmosphere and supportive staff made it a positive environment for her to express herself. I would recommend this program, especially for kids who are looking to develop their dance skills in a fun and encouraging setting.

My 9-year-old just completed the latest session of illFX Education's dance program in Calgary, and overall, we had a good experience. The instructor, Mia, was particularly engaging and made the lessons both fun and educational. My child learned some hip-hop routines and even got to participate in a small performance at the end of the session, which was a big confidence booster for them. The group sizes were small, allowing for more personalized attention. However, the pickup process was a bit chaotic with long lines, especially on the last day when parents came to see the performances. I recommend arriving early to avoid the rush. The environment felt very inclusive, and my child made a friend during the class, which was wonderful to see. All in all, a solid program, just be prepared for a bit of a wait during pickup.
