We recently enrolled our 6-year-old in Chef Joey's Cooking class in Calgary, and overall, it was a solid experience. The kids had the chance to make their own pizzas, which was a hit. My child was particularly excited about kneading the dough and adding toppings. Chef Joey himself was very engaging and took the time to explain each step clearly, fostering an inclusive environment. The small class size meant that each child received plenty of attention. However, the drop-off process was a bit chaotic as it lacked organization, which added some stress to the start of the session. My child is quite active and creative, so they thrived in this hands-on setting. They even made a new friend during the class, which was wonderful to see. All in all, I would recommend this program, especially if you can manage the drop-off hassle.

My son attended Chef Joey’s cooking class in Calgary last week, and he loved it. They made homemade pizzas, which meant he got to choose his toppings, and he was thrilled to create something he could actually eat afterward. The instructor, Chef Joey, was very engaging and kept all the kids involved, which was great to see. It was also nice that they offered healthy snacks during the class time, so the kids didn’t end up too hungry while they cooked. One downside was the number of children in the class; it felt a bit crowded at times, making it hard for individual attention. Our pickup was smooth, but I could see how the size of the group might be overwhelming for some kids. Overall, I’d recommend this class for other parents looking for a fun and creative outlet for their kids, especially for those who enjoy making food. My son came away excited and eager to try more recipes at home.
