My 9-year-old started attending the cooking classes at Blue Flame Kitchen Café in Calgary, and overall, it’s been a positive experience. The staff, especially our instructor Maya, is very engaged and encouraging, which really made my child feel comfortable in the kitchen. During the class, they made homemade pizzas and even whipped up some fresh pasta, which was a huge hit at home! I also appreciated the healthy snacks they provided. However, we did experience a long line during pickup, which was a bit frustrating after class, especially on the busier days. Still, I’d recommend this program for kids who are active and enjoy cooking—it’s a fun outlet for creativity while learning valuable skills.

I took my 9-year-old son to the Blue Flame Kitchen Café in Calgary for their weekly cooking class, and he had a great time. The instructor, Jamie, was really encouraging and made sure every child was involved. They prepared homemade pizza and fresh salad, which they got to eat afterward, so at least I knew he was having a healthy snack! My son is quite creative, and he loved designing his own pizza toppings. One downside, however, was the chaotic drop-off experience; it was hard to find a place to park and get him into the class on time. Still, the staff were friendly, and he came out excited about what he learned. Overall, I would recommend it, but just plan to arrive a bit early to manage the drop-off.
