My child attended the after-school coding program at Calgary Game Developers Academy for Youths Ltd., and overall, it was a solid experience. The class focused on 3D game design, which really captured my 12-year-old's attention. The instructor, Jake, was incredibly engaging and encouraged the kids to unleash their creativity while learning about industry-standard tools. My child was especially proud of the game prototype they built during the course. One downside was the long lines for pickup; it seemed a bit chaotic at times, which added some stress to the end-of-day routine. However, the small group size allowed for personalized attention, and I appreciated that my child made a few friends along the way. If you're looking for a creative outlet for your child who is focused and interested in tech, I would recommend this program, but be prepared for a bit of wait at pickup.
