My son, who is 12, recently started attending the Bolder Climbing Community in Calgary, and overall, we've had a positive experience. The instructors, particularly a guy named Jake, are genuinely engaged with the kids, which made a noticeable difference in my son's confidence. He had a great time learning how to climb different bouldering walls and even made a friend along the way. The group sizes are small, which allowed for personalized attention. One downside was the long lines for the more popular climbing areas, especially during peak times, which can be frustrating when you're trying to maximize climbing time. However, the inclusive environment helped my son feel comfortable and supported, which is key for him. At around $299 for the membership, it’s a bit pricey, but we think it’s worth it for the skills he’s developing and the fun he’s having. I’d definitely recommend giving it a try, just be prepared for some waiting.
