My daughter attended the MRU Camps Visual Arts program in Calgary for a week this summer. She’s aged 9 and loves to draw, so I thought this would be a great fit. The instructors, particularly Jessica, were very engaged and made an effort to get to know the kids. Each day, they worked on different creative projects, like painting and sculpture, which really brought out her enthusiasm. She made a good friend, which was a nice bonus. The only downside was the crowded environment at pickup time; it was a bit chaotic with parents trying to find their kids. Despite that, I appreciate the complimentary before and after care. Overall, I’d recommend this camp for kids who enjoy expressing themselves artistically and can handle a busy setting.

My daughter attended the MRU Camps Visual Arts program in Calgary, and overall, we had a positive experience. The camp runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, which is pretty convenient. She particularly enjoyed working on a mixed media project and made a beautiful collage that she was proud to show off. The staff, like her instructor Jamie, were genuinely engaged and fostered a supportive environment. However, the pickup was a bit chaotic on the last day, with long lines forming as parents waited to collect their kids. It would be nice if they could streamline that process. Despite that minor annoyance, I would recommend this camp for its creative focus and the chance for kids to socialize. My daughter came home excited every day, and she even made a new friend. I think it’s a great opportunity for kids who are interested in arts.
