My 12-year-old son attended the Splat Camp Downtown BK for Video Game Design and he had a really solid experience. The instructors, like Sarah, were incredibly engaging and managed to motivate the kids to tap into their creativity while learning about game mechanics. My son loved working on his own game project, and he even made a new friend in the process. However, I did find the drop-off in the morning a bit chaotic, especially with long lines forming as parents tried to get their kids checked in. Still, the rest of the day seemed well-organized, and my son left each day excited to share what he had learned. Overall, I would recommend this camp, but just be prepared for the morning rush if you decide to send your child there.

I enrolled my 9-year-old son in Splat Camp Downtown BK for the video game design program. Overall, it was a solid experience. The small group size allowed for personalized attention, which my son really appreciated. His instructor, Sam, was particularly engaged and encouraged the kids to think outside the box while designing their games. They built their own simple 2D games using a platform I had never heard of before, which sparked my son's creativity. The only downside was the amount of screen time involved; I noticed he spent much of the day in front of a computer, which was a bit concerning. Nonetheless, he came home excited about what he learned and even discussed ideas for future game designs. Pickup was well organized, making it easy to grab him after a long day. I would recommend this camp, but I'd advise parents to monitor the screen time at home following the camp days.
