My 6-year-old recently attended the Child's Play NY theatre program in Brooklyn, and overall, we had a positive experience. The program meets weekly, which was convenient for us. The instructor, Jenna, was incredibly engaging and encouraged the kids to express their creativity. They worked on a short play and even created their own characters, which my child really enjoyed. The environment seemed inclusive, and my child made a new friend during the activities, which was a pleasant surprise. One downside was the long lines at pick-up time, which could be stressful after a busy day. While my child is a bit shy, they really warmed up to the activities and seemed to thrive in this setting. I would recommend the program, but be prepared for some wait times during pickups.

My daughter, who's 6 and a bit on the shy side, recently participated in the Child's Play NY theatre program in Brooklyn. The engaged staff, especially our instructor Jamie, really made her feel at home. The program focuses on creative projects, allowing the kids to explore their artistic side. Each week, they crafted a scene from a story they created themselves, and my daughter built a character who was a brave little fox. She loved the process and came home excited about her 'performance' at the end of the session. However, the pickup process was a bit chaotic, with long lines forming each week, which made it somewhat stressful for parents. Despite this small annoyance, I’m glad we enrolled her. She’s made a friend and has shown a lot more confidence since joining. Overall, I would recommend this program for kids who want to express themselves, but just be prepared for the pickup challenge.
