I enrolled my 9-year-old at Beansprouts Day Camp in Brooklyn, hoping he would be engaged and excited about science. He certainly was! Over the full day, he created a volcano that erupted with baking soda and vinegar, which he talked about non-stop on the way home. The staff, including our main instructor Sarah, were enthusiastic and attentive, making sure every child felt involved. However, the drop-off process was a bit chaotic with long lines, which made it a little stressful for us parents. Additionally, while the group size was small, I noticed a few kids struggled to focus amidst the excitement. Overall, I would recommend this camp for active kids who love hands-on learning, but be prepared for some logistical challenges. My son came home with a new interest in science and a friend, which was a win in my book.
