r3space — Robotics

I enrolled my 9-year-old son in the r3space robotics program in Brooklyn, and he really enjoyed the hands-on approach to building robots. Each week, he came home excited about the projects they were working on, particularly the time they programmed their robots to navigate a maze. The instructor, Mike, was very engaging, making sure each child felt involved and encouraged. I appreciated the small group size, which allowed for more personalized attention. However, I did find drop-off a bit chaotic. There were a lot of kids and parents crowding at the entrance, which made it hard to get him settled in some days. Overall, it’s a solid program for any child interested in technology, and my son even made a friend there. I would recommend it with the caveat of being prepared for a hectic drop-off experience.

My son built a simple robot that could move around and even respond to basic commands, which sparked his creativity and interest in technology. One downside was the long lines during pickup; it seemed a bit disorganized at times, especially with all the excited kids trying to find their parents. Despite that, I would recommend this program for kids aged 8 to 10 looking to explore robotics in a hands-on manner. My son made new friends and really enjoyed the collaborative projects, so we’ll likely enroll again next session.
