PLAYDAY Cobble Hill — Photography

My 12-year-old daughter recently attended the PLAYDAY Cobble Hill photography program in Brooklyn. She had a wonderful time exploring the basics of photography, and she was particularly excited about the project where they created a mini gallery of their own photos. The instructor, Sarah, was very engaging and made the lessons fun, which helped my daughter feel more confident behind the camera. One small annoyance was the pickup process; it was slightly chaotic with many parents arriving at the same time, making it hard to spot my child initially. Despite that, I appreciate the small group size, as it allowed for more personalized attention. Overall, I think this program is a great way for kids to unleash their creativity and learn a new skill. We will definitely consider signing up again next term!

My 12-year-old enjoyed the small group size, as it provided ample opportunity for personalized feedback and collaboration with peers. They particularly loved the project where they had to capture everyday objects in unique ways, which sparked a lot of creativity. However, I did find the initial drop-off a bit chaotic, with parents crowding around the entrance. It would be great if they had clearer signage or staff to manage this better. Despite that, my child left each week excited about what they learned and even made a new friend who shares a passion for photography. I would recommend this program for kids who are creative and eager to learn, just be prepared for a slightly hectic start.
