iCode of Wellesley — Coding

My son, who is 9, has been attending the iCode program in Boston for the past month. The focus on hands-on activities is a big plus, as he really enjoyed building a simple game using Scratch last week. The instructor, Jenna, was very engaging, keeping the kids motivated and helping them understand the coding concepts. I also appreciated that the class size was kept small, allowing for more personalized attention. However, drop-off was a bit chaotic at times, especially when a lot of parents were trying to pick up their children at the same time. We faced some long lines, which made the experience a bit stressful. Despite this, I would recommend the program to others, especially if your child is focused and creative. Overall, it’s a solid program that encourages kids to dive into technology.

The small group size really allowed for personalized attention, which I appreciated. The program does run on a weekly schedule, so we are looking forward to his next session. However, I did notice that the pickup can be a bit chaotic, with long lines forming as parents wait. It wasn't a huge nuisance, but something to plan for if you're in a hurry. My son made a couple of friends in the class, which I think really enhanced his experience. If your child enjoys technology, I would definitely recommend this program, but just be prepared for the pickup situation.
