My Coding Place — Robotics

We enrolled our 9-year-old in the My Coding Place Robotics program in Austin, and overall, it was a solid experience. My son, who is quite creative, really enjoyed building his own robot and programming it to perform specific tasks. The small group size allowed for more one-on-one attention, which was great. The instructor, Jamie, was knowledgeable and engaging, making sure each child felt involved. I also appreciated the communication regarding pickup times, as it was very clear. My only minor issue was that the session ran a bit longer than expected, which made it challenging to coordinate with our other activities. Nonetheless, my son made a great friend there, and he looks forward to each weekly session. I would recommend this program, especially for kids interested in robotics and technology.

Each week, he gets to build and program his own robot, which he absolutely loves. The instructor, Jenny, is very engaged and encourages the kids to be creative with their designs. My son made a robot that can navigate a simple obstacle course, and he was so proud of his work. One little annoyance, though, was the drop-off process; it felt a bit chaotic at times with lots of kids and parents mingling. But once inside, my son settled down quickly and immersed himself in the activities. The small group size allowed for more hands-on support, which was great. I’d definitely recommend this program to other parents looking for a fun way to introduce their kids to robotics, especially if they enjoy creative projects.
