Natuurfontein WG-Terrein — Nature & Outdoors

We recently attended the Natuurfontein WG-Terrein program in Amsterdam, and overall, it was a solid experience for my 6-year-old. The staff, particularly Sarah, were very engaged and made it a point to interact with the kids, which really helped my child feel comfortable. My son particularly enjoyed building a bug hotel out of natural materials, sparking his interest in insects and the environment. One small annoyance was the lack of shade, as it was a hot day and we found ourselves seeking cover frequently. Still, the outdoor time was refreshing, and my son made a new friend, which was a definite plus. The program runs weekly, making it easy to fit into our schedule, and at around $20, it feels worth the investment. I would recommend this program for active kids who enjoy nature, but be prepared for a bit of sun exposure.

However, we did experience a bit of a wait during check-in—there seemed to be a long line as they were organizing groups for the day. I recommend arriving a bit earlier to avoid that stress. My child made new friends and was excited to share what they learned about the environment. If you have an active child who loves being outdoors, I'd suggest checking it out, just plan for some potential waiting time.
